Raven Nation was formerly broadcast via a community radio station based in Willunga, South Australia. All podcasts up to 23 December 2021 were aired under the auspices of this station, however this has now changed as I have resigned from my position as a presenter and member of the association due to a disagreement with the station's board of management. I anticipate continuing with podcasts in 2022, date to be announced.

The message of Raven Nation is of eclectic acoustics and poetic tidings, giving listeners sustenance for thought, arousing the heart, quickening the spirit, shaping the shift of time.

​

Raven can be dark - as a shadow, a warning to become more aware - or light, as a protector, watcher or guide. Mostly, Raven is the Messenger of the spirit of transformation. Black as night but living during the day in the Sun, Raven carries messages from the Void of creative darkness to our waking life, bringing magic, secrets, mysteries and dreams wherever she flies.

 

Raven Nation’s image is taken from one of the Merrekai Tarot cards I’ve designed for the theme of Transformation / Change, showing the Seeker moving toward the light, looking ahead but also seeing Raven and hearing the call to ‘Be Aware!’

​

The Raven is the largest songbird, has a brain capable of continual song-learning and is the most eloquent of avian orators - this is another theme of Raven Nation - continual song learning and eloquent oration. Sometimes dialogue (interviews), other times chatter (my raves on all subjects Raven-transformation related), and of course - the eloquence: poetry (not too much, just enough to explore the beauty of language) AND! - MUSIC!!! 

All genres. What I play on each podcast may or may not relate to a particular theme, but I always listen for the message in the lyrics and sound. All moods get to take the stage. That’s what life is, ever-changing, ever-moving, ever-shifting. I’m more likely to play alternative than mainstream music - mostly because listeners have plenty of the latter on hand - so if you’re looking for a transformative listening experience, tune in to Raven Nation!

and how they relate to the 56 'minor' cards.

8 October 2021 was my last session - The Hermit - for a while. I'll be continuing on to The Wheel of Fortune in the future - will post on my Merry Nation Facebook page to let you know.
